ILLUMINAUGHTY RETURNS TO HOST DANCE ARENA AT SUNRISE CELEBRATION 2015

: Manchester's Breakspoll 2015 “Best Large Event” finalist, IllumiNaughty, invited to host dance arena at Sunrise Celebration's 10-year anniversary festival!

Manchester based indoor-festival, IllumiNaughty, which draws in up to 2000 party-goers for it’s premier, performance-based club nights, will now embark on a new venture, swapping it’s, 4 floor indoor clubbing experience for the great outdoors!

Taking place from 21st – 24th May 2015 at Chepstow Racecourse, Chepstow, Mournmouthshire, Sunrise Celebration and IllumiNaughty come together to celebrate the festivals 10th Birthday showcasing an impressive line up of local and international DJ’s from the Psytrance, Trance, Breaks, Electro, Hip Hop & Reggae scenes.

The previous success of illumiNaughty's events saw them nominated for the prestigious Breakspoll 2015, “Best Large Event” award hosted at Manchester Music Venue, SoundControl earlier this year. Despite it being an indoor club event, illumiNaughty was shortlisted as one of four finalists alongside three of the UK’s most well renowned large, outdoor festivals; Boomtown Fair, The Beat Herder Festival, and winners, Shambhala Music Festival. Now the Manchester collective will take their colourful clubbing experience to greener fields as part of their collaboration with eco-festival, Sunrise Celebration, which is powered by 100% renewable energy!

The IllumiNaughty Dance Arena will see headliners such as GMS, Morten Granau, Krafty Kuts, Far Too Loud, Ed Solo, 1200 Micrograms, Rajaram, Avalon, System 7, Sonic Species, Deekline, Future Frequency & The Egg perform alongside IllumiNaughty residents Matt Lickuss, Steve Podmore, Mazord & Eesh.

In typical IllumiNaughty style, the dance arena is set to be transformed into a wonderland with fully themed-décor, light & laser shows, and circus-based performances – a hallmarks of their unique events, provided by their sister company, Visual Architects who have become a household name for club décor installations both in Manchester and internationally with their weird and wonderful, psychedelic designs.

Meanwhile, in the Sunrise Arena, Manchester reggae band Extra Love and other local favorite, Djemberklan support a huge line up of Reggae, Hip Hop & Electronica including headline performances from Omar Perry (Son of Lee Scratch Perry), Fun Lovin’ Criminal and BBC2/6 Music DJ, Huey Morgan, Sam & The Womp, Sian Evens of Kosheen, King Porter Stomp, Will & The People, Lazy Habits & Laid Blak to name but a few.

Alongside the diverse musical offering, Sunrise Celebration attendees can also experience yoga, meditation and eco-build workshops, massage and alternative therapies, eco-art and fashion exhibitions, literature talks and traditional crafts workshops including; stone, wood and chainsaw carving, willow weaving, blacksmithing, pole lathe, spoon carving and copper work.

With great music hailing from Manchester and beyond, site-wide, ethical traders, organic food and drink, boutique camping (gypsy caravans, tipis and yurts) and ethical conversations, the festivals 10-year anniversary event is set to be an alternative party like no other!

Sunrise Celebration takes place from 21st – 24th May 2015 at Chepstow Racecourse, Chepstow, Mournmouthshire. Tickets cost £115 + BF. Group discounts available.

Ends.

Listen to this weeks show for a chance to win a beautifully designed Symbolika T,shirt

This weeks show we have 3 more great mixes for your listening pleasure also a wonderful free voucher in the shows competition for some of best designed T.shirts we have come across.

Just a idea of how wonderful these really are.Listen to this weeks show for a chance to win one

Our first mix up tonight is a wonderful forest mix by Dyrad from the USA but coming to the UK so looking forward to hearing her play live.
Dryad is Maja Gaia, currently based out of upstate New york. She began DJing under the nameMistress Jade in 2004,however her sound has evolved over the years. As she became enchanted by the darker, more atmospheric sounds,Dryad was born

Her sets can best be described as both driving and ethereal, exploring various moods and

states of mind as the set progresses. She views DJing as

storytelling and loves to take the

dance floor on a journey through the lands of mystical forests and ancient folklore, sharing

her favorite tales through the dark, organic sounds of forest psychedelic trance.

Our second mix up on the show tonight is Bahar Canca

DJ Bahar Canca is a colourful personality, a crowd
pleaser, and life and soul of the party whether she is
behind the decks or the dance floor. A playing style
described as electro-infused tech house and techno-
funk, and a sensual attitude, are both the measure of
the music and the girl.

Originally from Turkey, Bahar Canca is now one of
London’s most exiting female DJs leaving a lasting
impression on the world of dance music. Arriving in
London to study film in the mid-nineties, she was
soon fascinated by the kaleidoscopic dance scene, the
number of genres of electronic music, and the
extraordinary manner in which the music removes
boundaries between a diversity of people. Inspired in
this environment, and by the power that positive
energy has in bringing people together, so DJ Bahar
Canca was born out of the simple need to share the
music she loved with others.

Our third mix on tonights show is lorraine with a short mix from the psy-sisters

Also we have one more mix from Ben Jammin

Outlook festival 2015

Outlook Festival is the largest Soundsystem Culture festival

in Europe, bringing together the biggest names from the most

vibrant and cutting edge dance scenes around.

During four days at the end of summer, the festival is set in

an abandoned fort perched above the Adriatic sea, next to a beach right near Pula, Croatia.

When we talk about bass music we don’t mean the

bastardised commercial version currently being sold to
children, we mean underground dancefloor music, whether it

be house, techno, dubstep, reggae, dub, hiphop, garage, grime, electronica, etc.
As Duke Ellington puts it “There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind.”
Now approaching its eighth year, Outlook has grown rapidly and is going from strength to strength. Anyone who has come to any of the last 7 Outlooks will tell you how amazing the vibe was, how wicked the music was, how beautiful the smiling people were and how stunning the setting is

Tuesday 3 March 2015

Its almost springtime so as thoughts turn to which festival to spend your money on have a look at what we thought about the festivals we went to.

Well as we head towards spring and the silly season is almost upon us here are just a few of the festivals we have selected for you.
Coming up our festival reviews.

Our review this week features Sunrise Celebration 2014.

Sunrise 2014
Sunrise was our first festival of 2014 the shows first review.
When we arrived late Thursday night Friday morning we had to wait until morning to get on site which was okay as parking was well sorted. After a short-time in the queue that was it were on our way. We came upon a beautiful site right next to the a racecourse. But the views where wicked and the fields lush. Off to a good start. After finding a space for the camper we settled into our weekend.
The atmosphere was very relaxed old school hippy style there were many families and children around. The vibe was tangible in we were all here to have a good time. The set up of the stalls and food led you into the arena were you could enjoy different styles of music, Really enjoyed the chill out area next to the psytrance trance stage. But I must admit I came for the music so off I went the dance to some of my favourite artists.Which we have recorded for some great future shows. The old school feeling of this festival made me that I was at one of my first hippy festival. There was loads to entertain over the weekend great stalls and goods on sale with some fantastic people. The food was lovely and well priced. I like the fact that you could really have a wander away from the bustle and find some peaceful spots to totally relax into. The scenery was an added bonus you did feel in a different realm. The tunes in the waveform stage were awesome really enjoyed recording some great sets from the artists. Sunrise certainly has the old school feel about it. If you like to enjoy all aspect's of a festival food, drink, dance, art, crafts but most of all the people who come to this wonderful festival are so colourful friendly up for a wicked weekend of loveliness .Its a very family friendly festival. It certainly benefits from its non commercial approach. Lots of interesting things to enjoy. My highlight was the waveform stage with some top artists playing the dance floor was packed. We hope to have some shows over the coming weeks with some of the highlights from Sunrise :)
